There are numerous ways for you to become involved and share your gifts with the church. We would love your help! An extensive list of one time, short or long-term opportunities follows. WICHITA/SEPTEMBER WORK PROJECT DAYS (SEPT. 2018 DATES TBD)
In September, a work team visits DPUMC to help us out for several days from a UMC in Wichita, Kansas. We do needed work and repairs on our buildings and grounds together.

  • Work Crew: I am willing to help with the church work days. I will be part of the church maintenance and repair crew in September.
  • Host/Lodging for Wichita Workers: I would be willing to host & provide lodging for our Wichita guest workers.
  • Kitchen Prep for Wichita Work Week: I will help with preparing meals, as needed.
  • Wichita Work Week Barbecue: I will host a barbecue for all the workers on Saturday afternoon/evening (approx. 20-25 people).

  • Rhubarb Fest, Pine Grove – Saturday, June 9, 6:30 am-4:00 pm
    I’d like to help with one or more of the following: 
    Booth Helpers:
    -SETUP – 6:30-7:30 a.m.
    -SHIFT ONE – 7:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
    -SHIFT TWO – 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
    (Includes Take Down)
  • Pride Parade – Sunday, June 17, 9:30 a.m., Denver
    I’ll help organize & advertise to our members.
  • Green Team
    I will help with efforts to make the church more “green” and environmentally conscious – participating in occasional planning meetings and activities.
  • Interfaith Food Pantry
    I will check with the Food Pantry regularly about their needs and keep the congregation informed.
  • Mountain Resource Center
    I will communicate with MRC about their needs and current projects & share with the congregation.
  • School Lunch
    I will communicate with Deer Creek Elementary School to ensure we maintain a $200 balance.
  • Woodpile Workday (Fall & Winter, First Saturday)
    I will commit to regular attendance at the Woodpile Workday (first Saturday morning of fall and winter months).
  • DPUMC Church Workday (Spring & Summer, First Saturday)
    I will commit to regular attendance at the Spring/Summer Church Workdays – Mowing, trimming, repairs, maintenance, gardening, watering (first Saturday morning).
  • Home Repair Projects
    I would work with a team of church members to help make repairs or do maintenance on the home of someone elderly or in need OR a church member’s home.
  • Outreach Project Contributor
    I plan to contribute church projects (Soles for Souls, Coats, Backpacks, Adopt a Family, etc.) & to the Food Pantry.
  • Vacation Bible School – Mon., July 23-Fri., July 27, 9:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. (for 20-30 kids, Age 4 – Grade 5)
    I can help with one of the following:
    -Greeter/Registration
    -3 Leaders
    -3 Helpers*     * Helpers may be 6th Grade or older
    -Art/Craft Leader
    -Pianist or Guitarist
    -Cooking w/Kids Leader

    I would be willing to share my home to host church events on occasion.
  • Worship Leadership
    – Liturgist – I will sign up, in Fellowship Hall, to lead the Call to Worship, Unison Prayer and read Scripture
    – Choir – I’d lead the choir or sing with the choir 1x per month
    – Choir – I could accompany the choir on the piano
    – Instrumental Music – I would be willing to share my musical skills playing an instrument.
  • Hospitality Host
    – A hospitality host sets up, provides beverages and refreshments and cleans up after Fellowship Hour following church on Sunday. I will commit to hosting Hospitality occasionally during the coming months.
  • I have another expertise/talent/skill that I’d like to share with the church.
  • I have a good idea I’d like to try at DPUMC.
